Translate an insight into an observable action
A workshop can leave you with several meaningful ideas. Choose one that can become a specific action in a setting you know. Describe what you plan to do and when you will begin. A small action makes it easier to prepare, ask for feedback, and understand what happened. The Q45 30-day plan offers four fields to help organize that thinking.
Include people closest to the need
Name a person or community whose perspective should guide your learning. Ask what would be useful, what is already happening, and what an additional contribution could add. In a fictional example, a participant hoping to improve volunteer instructions first asks new volunteers which part of arrival felt confusing. Their responses shape the draft and the way it will be reviewed.
Check support, permission, and capacity
Write what you need to ask, arrange, or learn before acting. Consider the time available, who holds responsibility for the setting, and what preparation would help. A trusted person may be able to review a draft or clarify the next step. Keep the action proportionate to your role and the resources available, and make room to adjust as new information appears.
Save what you learn after acting
After a week, write what you tried, what you heard, and what you would change. At a later review, consider whether the contribution remained useful and what should happen next. The learning lab keeps dated seven-day, thirty-day, and later reviews in a timeline. You can return to an earlier review as the starting point for a new reflection.
Common questions
What belongs in a 30-day plan?
Include a first action, someone to learn from, needed support or permission, and a question for reviewing what happened.
What if my plan changes?
Record the new information, the adjustment you made, and the reason for the next step in a dated review.
Put the guide into practice
Continue in your learning record.
Open the related workspace, explore an example, and record what you notice. Your entries can grow before, during, and after the workshop.
