Participant pathway
6 steps · 30 minutes
Begin with a short prayer for wisdom. Explain that the declaration is a personal expression for reflection and faithful living. Participants may start with the supplied passages and present experience. Set aside one area for questions that will need further discernment.
Read John 15:9–17 and Ephesians 2:8–10 in context. Write one sentence about relationship with Christ and one about service. Recall an actual example of a quality you have practiced. Optional previously weighed words may contribute a theme with their source and qualifications retained.
Choose three or four phrases concerning belonging, character, and service. Beside each, identify a biblical foundation, documented experience, or growth intention. Use language you can explain plainly. Move unresolved interpretations into the question space for later prayer and counsel.
Arrange the phrases in a natural order: relationship with God, qualities expressed or cultivated, and service to others. Connect them with a simple verb such as live, grow, serve, or offer. Write a sentence of approximately 25–45 words, retaining the full meaning of the selected phrases.
Read the declaration aloud. Ask whether each phrase has support, whether the sentence sounds like your own voice, and whether it leaves room for growth and discernment. An optional partner may reflect what they hear. Revise for clarity and retain the source notes alongside the sentence.
Select one action that embodies the declaration during the coming week. Name when and where you will practice it. Close with a short prayer of gratitude and willingness. Set a review point to consider the action, its fruit, and any wording that deserves refinement.
Fictional practice example
Rooted in the love of Christ and formed by grace for good work, I grow in patience, offer thoughtful encouragement, and serve others with kindness and a willing heart. The participant chooses to welcome a newcomer attentively at the next community gathering.
Pause and reflect
Can I explain the foundation of every phrase in my declaration?
Which words describe present practice, and which express a faithful growth intention?
What observable action will express the declaration during the coming week?
