Participant pathway

One attentive step at a time.

5 steps · 25 minutes

  1. 010–4 min

    Read the assignment

Copy each required question into your working notes. Identify the expected length and format. Locate the actual experience or source material relevant to each question.

  2. 024–10 min

    Preserve your account

Write what happened, what you understood, and what you did. Keep your own words for significant beliefs and spiritual experiences. Mark any point you wish to clarify before sharing.

  3. 0310–15 min

    Reflect with Scripture

Read a relevant passage with its surrounding context. Explain its teaching and then describe how it relates to the experience. Preserve the distinction between the biblical text and your personal application.

  4. 0415–21 min

    Answer each question

Write a complete response to every prompt. Name existing strengths and specific refinements where your account supports them. Use first person language only for beliefs, actions, and meanings you actually hold.

  5. 0521–25 min

    Review and choose an action

Check completeness, chronology, attribution, and tone. Select a realistic practice for the next week. If tools helped compose an external assignment, follow the course’s disclosure requirements and acknowledge that assistance accurately.

Illustrative practice example

See the practice take shape.

A fictional assignment asks what a participant learned about listening. The participant describes an encounter in which they paused before responding, noticed the other person’s concern more accurately, and asked a clarifying question. They connect this with James 1:19 and choose to practice a deliberate pause during a future conversation. The reflection preserves their established commitment to listening.

Pause and reflect

What is becoming clearer?

  1. 1

Have I answered the actual questions in full?

  2. 2

Which sentence describes my experience, and which interprets it?

  3. 3

What practical commitment can I reasonably keep?

Your practice outcome

A complete response to every assignment question and a practical commitment grounded in the participant’s account.
