Participant pathway
5 steps · 12 minutes
Read the biblical foundations and agree that participants may speak, pray, or pass. Ask the recipient whether they welcome an encouragement. Identify a quiet space with minimal interruption.
Use 30 seconds for prayerful attention, 30 seconds for speaking, and 60 seconds for feedback. Share one central thought in ordinary language. The recipient describes what they heard and what felt helpful or unclear.
Write the initial impression and the actual spoken message. Identify any expansion that happened under time pressure. Choose a clearer opening and a more concise ending.
Repeat the same 30-second attention, 30-second sharing, and 60-second feedback structure with the roles reversed. Respect the option to offer a simple prayer.
Discuss what supported attentiveness and what created pressure. Each participant writes a revised encouragement and a personal practice commitment. Measure progress through clarity, care, and honest discernment.
Illustrative practice example
A participant notices the theme of steadiness and says, “As I prayed, steadiness came to mind. May you find strength for the next faithful step.” The recipient asks what steadiness means. The speaker clarifies that it was a theme for prayer. The next round uses a simpler sentence and gives the listener more space to respond.
