A place at the community table

RUSKIN, FLORIDA — Carmalita Bernard represented Convergence Q45 at the Greater SouthShore Chamber of Commerce’s October monthly luncheon on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. The gathering took place at Firehouse Cultural Center in Ruskin, with Friends of the SouthShore Library sponsoring the occasion.

Her attendance continued the mission’s participation in SouthShore community life. Convergence Q45 thanks Carmalita for giving her time to represent the mission and remain present among the people and organizations serving the area.

A library connection at the luncheon

The Chamber announced William Harris of Friends of the SouthShore Library for the program. Its invitation highlighted the Friends’ volunteer work, including the bookstore and vending café inside SouthShore Regional Library, where purchases support the library and its programs for all ages.

The luncheon brought local business and community life together around a shared table. The Chamber scheduled the event from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, providing a regular opportunity for members to reconnect and learn about organizations contributing to SouthShore.

Purpose expressed through participation

Convergence Q45 invites people to consider how their strengths, spiritual gifts, lived experience, and spheres of influence can contribute to meaningful service. Carmalita’s participation gives that reflection a local expression: showing up, listening, and sustaining a connection with the surrounding community.

Readers can explore the mission’s resources, connect through Carmalita’s digital business card, and follow the Chamber’s calendar for future community gatherings. We are grateful for the opportunities SouthShore provides to keep learning about one another’s work.
